ATMAN SCHOOL OF YOGA
The Atman Yoga School® teaches Power Vinyasa Flow, which is a dynamic and creative style of yoga that links breath to movement. We are a multi-lineage yoga school that brings a modern approach to traditional yoga philosophy and asana practice, supported by the wisdom of Ayurveda – the sister science of yoga. We follow the spirit of Krishnamacharya’s teachings: fit the practice to the individual, not the individual to the practice.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is yoga teacher training appropriate if I’m newer to yoga?
Yes. Teacher training is about far more than learning how to teach poses. It includes breathwork, alignment, meditation, philosophy, and the history and context of yoga.
Many students join with no intention to teach — they simply want to deepen their understanding and personal practice. About half of our graduates go on to teach, and half participate for personal growth.
We do ask that students have some familiarity with vinyasa yoga and curiosity about how it is taught, even if teaching is not your end goal.

Why choose Atman Yoga School?
There are many wonderful yoga trainings available, and choosing one is a personal decision. Atman Yoga School offers a training that blends modern vinyasa practice with traditional yoga philosophy and Ayurveda.
The teaching team brings many years of professional experience. Lead instructor Sea Marie Biladeau has over 20 years of experience guiding students from practice into teaching.
The curriculum includes:
• Vinyasa and sequencing methodology
• Yoga philosophy (Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Samkhya)
• Ayurveda foundations
• Teaching skills and practicum
This training is designed for students who want both practical teaching tools and meaningful philosophical study.
What is Vinyasa or Power Vinyasa?
Vinyasa is a breath-linked style of movement. The word vinyasa means “to place in a special way.”
Classes are dynamic and creative, but always adaptable. Following the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya, students are encouraged to adapt practice to their own body, experience level, and needs. Yoga is not one-size-fits-all.
What if I have to miss part of training?
We understand that life happens. Students may miss one full weekend session with advance notice.
Make-up options may be available for an additional fee. Because this is a cohort-based learning experience, attendance is important for both personal learning and group connection.
Certificates are awarded after required hours and coursework are completed.
Is financial support or a payment plan available?
Yes. We aim to make training as accessible as possible.
• A $500 deposit reserves your space
• Payment plans are available
• Full and partial scholarships are available (see below)
• Full tuition must be paid before graduation

Heart of Service Scholarship
The Heart of Service Scholarship supports students who feel called to share yoga in service of their communities and who may need financial assistance to attend training.
This scholarship reflects our belief that yoga education should not be limited by income and that teachers from diverse life experiences strengthen the yoga community as a whole.
Scholarships are awarded through a simple application process and are based on a combination of financial need, sincerity of interest, and intention to serve.
If you feel this may be right for you, we encourage you to apply. We welcome your story and your heart for service.

Is my deposit refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable because they secure limited training spots and support program planning.
If you are unsure whether training is right for you, we encourage a conversation before registering. We are happy to answer questions so you can make an informed decision.
You can email your questions to atman@theyogasource.org or set up a Zoom call to discuss further.
What is the training experience like?
Teacher training can be immersive and meaningful. Students explore new ideas, reflect deeply, and develop practical skills.
We aim to foster a respectful and supportive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
Many students build lasting friendships and professional connections during training.
Self-care, rest, and nourishment are encouraged throughout the process.
Can I contact teachers outside of training hours?
Yes. Teachers are available for reasonable support around coursework and questions. Contact information is provided to enrolled students.
Can students meet outside training to practice or study?
Yes. Peer connection is encouraged. Study groups and practice teaching help reinforce learning.
A private online group is often created for each cohort to coordinate meetups, share resources, and stay connected.
When do I receive my certificate?
Certificates are awarded after:
• All training hours are completed
• Coursework is submitted
• Tuition is paid in full
Graduates may then register with Yoga Alliance if they choose.
